Shop Till You almost Drop!

Ehek!

Apa nak dikatakan. Tak shopaholic la kalau tak enjoying all the sales that is going on all over UAE ni kan. Ari ni aku puasa. So tak nak la dok umah n tunggu for Maghrib yang dirasakan lama je kan.. (alasan) So I decided to go to the neighborhood mall, the Abu Dhabi Mall. 10 minutes walk from my house.

Masuk2 1st stop kat Mango MNG. Coz this shop is in front of the elevator that we usually used to go to the food court during working days. Naik je escalator tu tgk all the sale signs dah takde. hmm.. takde rezeki la. I won't buy without the sales... (even though sempat eying this one cool jacket worth AED150)

So jalan la pegi Zara at the end of the floor. Masuk. Tengok tengok. Feeling relief sbb beli seluar kat Milan dulu (selit sket. Beli slack Zara kat Milan for AED75. kat sini AED125. Yeay!) Then caught this black TRF jacket. Boleh tahan. Tak casual sangat n tak formal sangat. Try jap. Just my size. Tag says AED115. Ok la kan. Jalan lagi. Try lagi a few more shirts. And....

Tak banyak... 2 jacket AED70 each (yeah... the AED115 is actually AED70 in the system. how bout that..) and 2 shirts for AED55 each.

Suka sangat. I decided to pay a visit to La Senza. And I really did pay a lot of some money.. Takleh la tunjuk sume kan.. tease sket2 je..

Susah nak cari matching panty on sale item. Tapi since the bras are just AED39 each beli jugak la.Siap jadi member lagi. Katanya membership international. And dapat satu cop which left me another 8 before my free bra!

I bought everything in 1.5 hours. Came back home. Masak for bukak puasa. Feeling gooooodddd.....

Crossing out Checklist

Takde la checklist apa sangat pun sbnrnye. Just that, when i first got here there're so much to do/to get/to register/etc. Rumah tu semua satu hal la kan. Itu namanya essential. Ni yang antara essentials n tak ni. I finally got my corporate card. So don't have to depend on KL's anymore. Minggu ni jugak dapat business card baru. No more "This is my old card. Just ignore the address and the telephone number but you can you the email address" speech. And finally got my Emirates ID. All in one week.

Punya la 3rd world tak 3rd world nye tempat ni... Malaysia dah berzaman ada IC. Sini baru nak implement. Dalam 2-3 tahun kebelakangan ni la dia implement. Expat pun kene ada ID ni. Yang peliknya, paham la kalau expat yg dh lama kat sini nak kene apply and pegi register bagai. But for new expat they should have done it together when they process the Resident Visa Application. But they didn't. So end up i got my visa for like 2 months and now only i got my ID. Itu pun bypass the process.

The process is suppose to be, you go to a certain typing centre, pay a certain amount of money, and this typing centre will apply for you. I don't quite know the 'where' and 'how much' because sume ni was done by the PR in my office. He even paid for my application which was not the case for previous new employee. Lucky me.

After that you are suppose to wait for THE SMS (which never came btw) and go to the assigned centre on a certain date to get your finger (and palm) print and picture taken. I didn't get mine after 1 month so i decided to call them up. So they fix my appointment (that's what they call it) on 20th March which is like 2 months away. I can't wait that long. Coz without this ID i cannot go for driving license test. Without the driving license i can't drive.

I even planned to go to Dubai or Jabel Ali to get this done. Coz one of my colleague got his done there in one hour. Then someone told me that she saw some advertisement that it can be done in some post office. And for ladies only in Al-Bateen post office. So i went there.

I reached the post office at 9.30. Went up and got my ticket. It says 3 10.30am. I guess my turn would be at 10.30a.m and in between 10.30 to 11.00 there're several people so i'm no 3. Ok. Sounds good enough. So i waited. Funny thing is, from the moment i got there, nobody was calling for any number. tak pe la. tunggu lagi sampai 10.30 since the card says 10.30 kan..

10.35 still takde sapa panggil sesapa. Ok.. this is weird. I need to get this done and return to my job. So i told myself 'takleh jadi ni. minah ni bgn je aku nk masuk. aku tak kira.' That's what i did btw.. kene jerit kejap dgn officer tu tapi aku buat muka stone jek. She took my fingerprint, palm print, side of the palm print, signature, and picture; i got my receipt. Not the ID. just a receipt saying that i've registered.

It's ok since that's all i need to get my license done. So finger cross until it's done.

Mi Apartment

There's the completed living room. Lengkap dengan rak tempat menyorokkan kotak2 kasutku dan juga segala vacuum n iron board. Tak nampak kan iron board nye? hehe..Let's recap what I bought.

Kitchen stuff. Washing machine+dryer Indesit brand. Stove+oven also Indesit. Peti ais Daewoo. Rice cooker Sharp. Kettle Kenwood. All from Carefour. The reason of the mix and match brands were because i bought the cheapest they have for each item. Not really the cheapest la. Kalau cheapest i would have got a single door fridge kan. Cheapest for the spec la i mean.

Living room plak. The rak serbaguna tu from Home R Us. Bukan Toys r Us ok.. The L-Shape sofa pun from Home R Us gak. Reason being, I'm very particular about the sofa. Yg suka pun Ikea homey looking sofa tu. But quite expensive though for the quality. Went to Home R Us and they had a superb sale. This sofa is actually 50% sale and the rack was 70% sale. So beli la kan.. Empuk pun empuk. And had been menyesal for buying the other stuff kat Ikea earlier. That is the coffee table and TV rack. TV is Samsung 32" from Carrefour.

Bedroom stuff. Sume Ikea except the carpet. Katil+bedside+chest of drawers are my ever dream Asperlund. Nak beli masa kat Malaysia tak mampu. Gaji kecik. huhu.. Carpet was from Abu Dhabi Co-op. Sale gak. About 30% kot. Wardrobe is built in. So, tak beli la.

So, that's all. I love this place. It really feels homey. dah mula sepah2 dah dgn cable laptopnye, botol air nye, remote control, selimut bagai.. huhu.. mmg totally homey la. Got myself the building satellite TV which include Fox Movies, Fox Series, MBC 1,2,3,4, Max and Action. Dubai 1 is also showing english speaking thing. Al jazeera, CNN, Bloomberg and the other 2000 channels. Also got my double play e-life from etisalat for house phone and internet. So i'm basically (almost) settling down here. Next is Emirates ID and Driving License. Hope to get them reallyyy soooonnnn...

Finally. Dah kawin tapi masih duduk rumah mak ayah? Pemimpin bagi sebijik villa. Bawak la anak bini pindah ke situ. termimpi mimpi benda mcm ni berlaku kat malaysia..
