Moving

Moving house in AD... = Not easy...
It's a month worth of work.. hard work.. physically and emotionally (well.. at least the emotional part did get to me..)

I knew that I need to look for a new place for 3 months already. Unfortunately, around here... nobody would save a place for you that long. You like it, take it... Or else, look somewhere else.
And that's exactly what happened to me. I looked for the new place, love it, and wanted to signed for it. But nobody wants to sign a post dated contract. Dengggg... What do i do..??? I guess I have to look for it really close to my moving date then.. Or move now, which means I will be losing like 2 months worth of contract.

And when I found a place that I really liked, there's this problem with the contract. It's in Arabic. How in the world I'm gonna sign that? I don't understand what I'm signing for... That's almost impossible. Sadly.. I had to let that place go and look for another one. Found it. And here I am.. Resident of Al Nahyan Camp.

Not easy... I mean.. the move was not easy... First, look for a perfect place.. Well, this is almost a perfect place. Of course it's not as good as what I had in TCA. No KM underneath.. No security guards 24/7... No elevator while I'm still on second floor... And definitely no underground parking which leads to no longer always shining Winey.. Poor Winey who had to go through all these with me...

Then, the move.. If you want the easy way, you can always call the professional moving company who will come with 10 people and pack everything for you, move it to the new house and unpack everything. And you just have to pay thousands to them. The hard way.. was how I did it.. Get the boxes from KM, pack everything myself and get a Patan and his lorry to move my things to the new place. Cost wise... hundred.. Penat-wise... tak terkira... and emotionally too...

After moving all the stuff, had to clean up the old apartment. Again, you can always spend thousands to some bangla to do it for you... or do it your self. Cut the gas supply. Cut the electricity and water supply. Move the Etisalat account.. And all these cutting supplies can't be done with one simple call.. I went to 3 different offices to cut the electricity and water after 3 phone calls. Had to see the gas people maybe 4 times before getting the clearance. And I don't want to start with the Etisalat team... 2 offices visit, 3 phone calls, technician had to come 3 times before everything settled.

After almost a month, I am now settled in my new place. Not fancy, not flashy.. But I'm proud to call it a home...
